The refrigerator is an electronic device that is almost in every home. Usually the refrigerator is always connected to electricity for a full 24 hours, making it work continuously without stopping. So it has a high probability of having various types of problems.
Fridge problems can occur in any type of refrigerator. Both ordinary refrigerators and even sophisticated and luxurious refrigerators. One-door or two-door refrigerator is not free from problems.
When the refrigerator has problems, it causes the food and drinks in the refrigerator to not cooled completely. Or if when the freezer is in trouble, our food or drink cannot be frozen.
This is of course very annoying for most people. Therefore, we should understand about the types of problems in the refrigerator so that we can take the right steps in these problems. Here are the types of problems that often occur in refrigerators.
1. Refrigerator is Not Cold
The most common problem is that the refrigerator does not feel cold or the resulting temperature is uneven. This of course can cause food and drinks stored in the refrigerator to not last long.
The cause of the refrigerator being not cold usually because there is a leakage Freon in refrigerator, the compressor on the refrigerator is damaged, or the refrigerator capacitor is damaged. But the refrigerator is not cold can also be caused by the door of the refrigerator that is not tightly closed or because the magnet on the refrigerator door is weak.
2. Refrigerator Turned Off Completely
The refrigerator can completely shut down due to the absence or obstruction of the current on the refrigerator components. A dead refrigerator can also be caused by a faulty power outlet. So it is also important to choose a good quality socket.
To find out the main cause of a dead refrigerator, you need to do a thorough component inspection. Use an ohm meter to check each component of the refrigerator to make it easier for you to check each component.
3. Freezer Not Cold
A freezer that does not cool can be caused by a problem with a leaky or clogged Freon, a faulty refrigerator compressor, a faulty refrigerator condenser, insufficient lubrication of the refrigerator components, a leaking evaporator, or a refrigerator door that doesn’t close tightly.
For the first check, you can check the Freon flow path, because Freon is the main factor causing the freezer to not cool.
4. Chiller Not Cold
The main reason the chiller doesn’t cool is because the heater and timer are having problems. This can lead to a buildup of food waste and can also trigger frost.
If this continues, it can cause blockages and cause the refrigerator to malfunction. The first step you can do is to clean the dirt that is located in the connecting part between the freezer and chiller.
5. Water Seepage in the Refrigerator
Seepage of water in the refrigerator usually occurs due to excessive condensation as a result of hot food or drink being put directly into the refrigerator. The refrigerator door that is not closed tightly can also cause water seepage in the refrigerator because the cold produced by the refrigerator will leak out.
We recommend that if you are going to put hot food or drinks in the refrigerator, wait until the food or drink is cold first so as not to cause the refrigerator to break quickly.
6. Water Seepage Under the Refrigerator
Seepage of water under the refrigerator can occur due to several factors:
- The heater has a problem so that there is a leak which causes water seepage under the refrigerator.
- Leak in refrigerator filter tube.
- Leaks in the purifier hose or improper installation of the purifier hose, causing a leak.
- Leak in refrigerator water hose.
7. Buzzing Sound from the Refrigerator
The refrigerator can buzz because the fan motor on the refrigerator goes the extra mile to produce the temperature it needs. Another thing that causes the refrigerator to buzz is the placement of the refrigerator that is not on a flat surface so that the components of the refrigerator do not work properly.
If your refrigerator is buzzing because you set it to the maximum cold temperature, then this is not a problem. However, if the surface under the refrigerator is not flat, you can move it or add a mat to the bottom of the refrigerator.
8. Refrigerator Lights Off
Fridge lights that turn off make it difficult for you to take or place food in the refrigerator. Refrigerator lights are usually small with 25 or 40 watts of power. This light is controlled by a small switch that is usually installed inside the refrigerator door.
When the refrigerator door is closed, the switch will cut off electricity so the light will turn off. And when the refrigerator door is opened wide, the switch will reconnect the electricity so that the light turns on.
The cause of a dead refrigerator light is a broken light or a lack of power from the electricity. Replace the bulb if it is broken. If the bulb is still in good condition, check the wires that provide power to the refrigerator light.
Those are some of the types of refrigerator problems that often occur. If you are still very new to the problems that occur in the refrigerator, we recommend that you call a technician who is experienced in refrigerator so that repairs can be carried out on your refrigerator immediately
