Split AC Components and The Functions

AC, or air conditioner, is a piece of technology that controls the temperature of a room so that it is more relaxed than the rest of the house or as desired. In other words, air conditioning makes the room cooler.

There are now many different types of air conditioner, on the market. And Split AC is the most common type. Split AC is an air conditioner often used in homes, offices, and other places where cold temperatures are needed to make people feel more comfortable.

A split AC has two different parts. The first part is the indoor unit, which is inside, and the second is the outside unit, which is external (outdoor unit). These two parts are connected in the same way. The indoor unit takes away the cold air made by the outdoor unit’s engine.

Because it cools the room by putting out cold air, the indoor unit has to be in the room where it is used. Most of the time, the outdoor unit is put outside the room. This is also done so that the engine in the outdoor unit makes as little noise as possible.

Here is an overview of what makes up a Split AC.

split ac components

1. Front Panel

The Font Panel is a piece of the front of the AC that is a panel. The front panel’s job is to control how much air comes into the room and how hot or cold it is. The front panel also serves as a cover for the air conditioner’s front cover.

2. Air Inflet

The air inlet is a channel for air that brings air from outside into the AC system and spreads air around the room.

An air inlet is an indoor unit that lets air into the room. So, this channel allows the air to get out of the AC cooling system and into the room. On the other hand, the air inlet outdoor unit acts like a pipe that pulls air into the AC cooling system, especially into the outdoor unit.

3. Air Filter

The air filter is a part of the air conditioner that cleans the air that comes in through the air intake and goes into the room. This air filter is very important because it cleans the air by removing dust and dirt so that the air in the room is clean and healthy.

4. Air Outlet

One of the most important parts of an AC is the way it lets air out. This air vent, at the bottom of the air conditioner, is where the air comes out.

5. Horizontal Air Flow Grille

The horizontal air flow grille is a hole in the air conditioning system that allows airflow. It is part of the central air conditioning system. So, the horizontal airflow grille acts as a path for air to flow back from the room to the cooling system in a horizontal direction.

The Horizontal Air Flow Grille is also a place where air can move horizontally between the temperature of the cooling system and the room temperature.

6. Vertical Air Flow Louver (Inside)

The vertical airflow louver is an air duct hole in the air conditioning system, just like the horizontal airflow grille. It is also part of the central air conditioning system.

The vertical airflow louver lets air from the room flow back into the cooling system. At the same time, it removes air and heat from the cooling system in a vertical direction.

7. Display Panel

A display panel is a panel that shows information about the cooling system, such as the temperature, the speed of the fans, and other things. Most of the time, this display panel is in front of the front panel.

8. Remote Control

The installed air conditioner can be turned on or off with the remote controller, and the temperature can also be changed.

You can also change the mode of the cooling system. Most of the time, there are four modes.

  • Cool Mode: This mode adjusts the air conditioner to produce more cold temperatures so that the room will feel cold and cool.
  • Dry Mode: This mode adjusts the air conditioner to release a cold temperature that is not too large so that the humidity in the room decreases.
  • Fan Mode, This mode functions so that the fan inside the indoor unit rotates without turning on the engine inside the outdoor unit.
  • Auto Mode, This mode will automatically adjust the air conditioner to adjust the room temperature.

9. Connecting Pipe

The connecting pipe is part of the outside cooling system. It connects two freon lines, which are pipes.

10. Connecting Cabble

A connecting cable is a part of the air conditioner’s cooling system that connects cables from the inside cooling system to the external cooling system.

11. Stop Valve

Stop valves are parts that can be opened and shut like a water faucet. L keys are often used to open the stop valve. The stop valve keeps the freon in the outside cooling system from escaping (outdoor unit).

So, these are some of the parts of the Split AC. The parts of a split AC also depend on what type and brand it is. Most of the time, the more complicated an air conditioner is, the more parts it has.
